Small business contests are great ways to secure additional funding or recognition. Here are 5 small business contests you should know about.

Why Should I Enter A Small Business Contest

A small business contest is a great way to earn some exposure, as well as some prize money. You may also land some business contacts or a business mentor out of it. The best thing is that most of the contests below are simple to enter.

List Of Small Business Contests

FedEx Small Business Grant Contest

The FedEx Small Business Grant offered a grand prize of $25,000 and business services worth $7,500. You can check out the 2017 winners here. The 2017 version was the most successful one yet, so you can expect FedEx to hold one in 2018, too.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Dream Big

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Dream Big Award aims to spotlight multiple businesses around the country. The grand prize winner won $25,000 but there were a variety of prizes. MetLife partnered with the Chamber of Commerce for the 2017 award. We expect the Dream Big Award to continue in 2018.

Shopify Build A Business

Shopify Build A BIGGER Business is a great small business contest for those of you that sell online. The 2017 version was open to those making between $1 million and $50 million for 2016. Winners received more than $1 million in marketing architecture, as well as a trip to Fiji or New York City to ring the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Shopify has been running some variation of this contest since 2010. So, it's a safe bet to say it will offer a contest in 2018.

Miller Lite Tap The Future

The Miller Lite Tap The Future contest offers small businesses the chance to win $100,000 as the grand prize. And no, it doesn't have to be related to beer. The 2017 winner made a tossable 360-degree camera for first responders.

We fully expect this contest to be back in 2018, too.
